Post: Kourittenga COPROSUR Consultation Framework Achieves Satisfactory Results in First Half-Year

Koupela: The Secretary General of the Kourittenga province, Fernand N'do, representing the High Commissioner, chaired the provincial consultation framework of the Provincial Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (COPROSUR). The meeting took place on Thursday, September 8, 2025, in Koupela, organized by the provincial directorate in charge of Humanitarian Action in Kourittenga in collaboration with the NGO WHH, and was attended by statutory members of COPROSUR and development actors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ordinary session aimed to enhance the synergy of actions among statutory members and other development actors. The session focused on reviewing the actions carried out in the first half of 2025 and addressing the management of internally displaced persons (IDPs). The framework offered NGOs and associations operating in the province a platform to review their activities for the benefit of IDPs and vulnerable host communities.

Sylvie Oboulbiga/Tankoano, the provincial director in charge of humanitarian action in Kourittenga, reported that during the first half of 2025, 450 men, 978 women, and 1003 children received food assistance through collaborations with development partners. However, she noted that 120 individuals are in need of psychosocial support. Ms. Oboulbiga also pointed out the lack of equipment for IDP registration and urged partners to promptly return data collection reports to the social action department.

Marcel Yogo, the provincial director in charge of Primary Education in Kourittenga, highlighted that with the support of development stakeholders, 501 out of 527 internally displaced candidates passed the CEP exams for the 2025 session, achieving a success rate of 95.07%.

The communicator of the NGO WHH stated that their intervention led to the distribution of 7.6 tons of fortified flour to 413 women and 720 children, benefiting IDPs and vulnerable individuals.

Secretary General Fernand N'do acknowledged the challenges reported by the actors but commended the efforts already made on the ground. He urged all stakeholders to engage in more dialogue and collaboration to enhance efficiency, facilitate the implementation of actions, and contribute to the province's development.
