Post: KPA Donates Sh4.65M Food for Eid Celebrations to Coast Region

Mombasa: The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director, Captain William K. Ruto, has overseen the donation of foodstuffs valued at Sh4.65 million to 19 organisations in the Coast region. This contribution, made ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, is part of KPA's commitment to supporting vulnerable Muslim communities and reflects the organization's emphasis on corporate involvement in social welfare.

According to Kenya News Agency, this initiative underscores KPA's dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility and its support for community development. The donation comprised sugar, maize flour, wheat flour, beans, cooking oil, rice, and other food varieties. Speaking at the KPA's Headquarters, Captain Ruto highlighted that this period is a time of devotion and generosity, values that resonate with both the company and the community.

The Managing Director emphasized that KPA's role extends beyond port operations, marking them as a Responsible Corporate Citizen committed to initiatives that uplift the communities they serve. He pointed out the importance of partnership in creating positive change and expressed pride in standing with the community to ensure that more families can celebrate Eid with dignity.

The donation will benefit 19 organisations that support and advocate for the community's well-being, including the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, the Supreme Council of Muslims, the Kenya Muslim National Advisory Council, and the Kenya Muslim Women Alliance. Other recipients include rights organizations, religious institutions, boarding schools, and various constituencies.

By distributing support through this network, KPA aims to reach as many people as possible, reinforcing the spirit of sharing that defines the Holy Month. Captain Ruto assured that the donation would also be extended to Lamu Port the following day, emphasizing unity among all people.

Hassan Ole Naado, Chairman of SUPKEM, expressed gratitude to KPA's Managing Director and his team for their generous donation. He highlighted the importance of compassion and support for the less fortunate during the Holy Month, urging people to extend kindness and foster goodwill within their communities.
