Nairobi: The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has issued a warning to jobseekers about a fraudulent online recruitment portal, which had been circulating on social media pretending to recruit new rangers.
According to Kenya News Agency, the fake online portal, which has now been removed, featured the KWS logo and invited qualified Kenyans to apply for various positions. Applicants were instructed to enter their details on the platform and submit the information for consideration. The portal also encouraged users to share the link with others interested in the job opportunities advertised as part of the Kenya Wildlife Service 2025 Recruitment.
KWS has cautioned the public against falling victim to such fake advertisements and has disassociated itself from the fraudulent link, labeling it as a scam. The organization has advised Kenyans to be vigilant and verify the authenticity of online portals to avoid being exploited by fraudsters. In an official statement on its X handle, KWS emphasized that it does not conduct recruitment through unofficial platforms or unauthorized websites and urged the public to seek accurate information through their official channels.
The warning from KWS prompted immediate reactions on social media. Users like Abdi Rashid shared their past experiences of being conned, while others, such as Dennis Nabum, advised caution when engaging with online job application portals. Honourable Vincent Kilonzo stressed the importance of verifying social media handles to ensure authenticity.
