Makueni: The Anita Mbinya Foundation, in partnership with Brighter Monday Kenya, has launched a new initiative for the youth dubbed Generation to Kazi in Makueni County. The Foundation, under the patronage of the county governor's spouse, Anita Mutula, targets young people aged between 18 and 35 years, who have completed technical training lasting six months or one year. The programme aims at equipping the youths with essential soft and digital skills to enhance their employability and support their transition into entrepreneurship.
According to Kenya News Agency, during the unveiling of the initiative at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Mbuvo campus, Kathonzweni sub-county, Mrs. Mutula urged local youths to take advantage of the training opportunities. These opportunities will be rolled out in vocational centres and County Technical Training Institutes (CTTIs) across the county.
Mrs. Mutula emphasized the importance of the program by stating, "I urge all the youths to come forward and acquire skills that will help them fend for themselves and be self-reliant. This will also uplift their living standards." The event saw the presence of Brighter Monday Kenya officials, area MCA Kennedy Maneno, the county Executive for Devolution Nicolas Nzioka, Chief Officer (Office of the governor) Felistus Mutune, her health counterpart Dr. Harvey Mulei, and the Chief of Staff Mercy Kinyi, among other county officials.
