Post: Mid-Term Evaluation of Humanitarian Action Contract Shows 66.53% Execution Rate

Ouagadougou: The Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, conducted a mid-term evaluation of the objectives contract for the Minister of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, Commander P©lagie Kabr©/Kabor©. The assessment reveals a physical execution rate of 66.53% as of June 30, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister's contract comprises 45 products centered on five essential priorities: enhancing resilience among populations affected by the crisis, strengthening social cohesion and national solidarity, developing inclusive social protection mechanisms, empowering women and girls, and ensuring effective emergency humanitarian response. Of the 45 expected products, 89% have been delivered or are in the process of delivery. These efforts have resulted in tangible outcomes, including the return of over 1,060,000 individuals, compared to 1,010,000 by the end of 2024; assistance to more than 26,000 displaced or returned households with basic household items; and educational or vocational training support for over 7,000 vulnerable children, including orphans and those with disabilities.

Additionally, more than 260,000 impoverished individuals have received psychosocial support, over 2,000 women and girls have been trained in micro-project management, and more than 4,000 people, primarily internally displaced, have been assisted in creating income-generating activities. The Minister highlighted the mobilization of nearly 200 hectares of land in the Central, Central Plateau, and Central-West regions to enable internally displaced individuals to produce food and engage in agro-pastoral and fishing activities. This initiative aims to foster the self-sufficiency of displaced populations, reducing their reliance on aid.

Despite these achievements, the Minister acknowledged challenges in implementing the performance contract, such as restricted access to certain areas, limited financial resources, and inadequate rolling stock. For the remainder of the year, the Prime Minister urged the Minister to sustain and enhance efforts to facilitate the effective return of populations to their original locations, while remaining vigilant against disaster risks, particularly floods during the rainy season.
