Nairobi: Principal Secretary for the State Department for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, has held discussions with senior officials from Pwani University to review the status of ongoing and proposed health infrastructure projects at the institution. The meeting, held at Afya House, Nairobi, brought together Vice-Chancellor Prof. James Kahindi, Council Member Capt. (Rtd.) Dr. Makorani Y'Dhidha-a-Mjidho, and the Dean of the School of Health and Human Sciences.According to Kenya News Agency, the primary focus of the meeting was the planned establishment of the Pwani University Teaching and Referral Hospital. This flagship project is expected to enhance health training and improve access to specialized medical services in the coastal region. Dr. Oluga reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting academic institutions in strengthening healthcare delivery through infrastructure development, training, and research partnerships.
