Morocco has officially launched work on its first Gigafactory for electric vehicle batteries in the Kenitra free zone. This major project, worth 65 billion dirhams and covering 156 hectares, aims to position the country as a leader in green mobility in Africa. With a planned production capacity of 100 GWh per year, the Gigafactory is expected to be operational by 2026 and strengthen the supply chain of the Moroccan automotive sector.
