Post: Nabil Ammar calls for consolidating ties between Tunisian experts living abroad

Tunis: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, stressed the need to develop a clear strategy which «would bring Tunisian experts together so that they create a driving force for economic growth in the country.»Speaking at the opening of the «Tunisia Global Forum,» held by the «World Alliance of Tunisian Experts» and «L'Association des Tunisiens des Grandes Ecoles (ATUGE) as part of the «Month of Tunisians Abroad» event, Nabil Ammar pointed out that his department is working with various stakeholders to increase networking among Tunisian experts at home and abroad.He spoke of the ministry's new vision on fostering interaction between Tunisian expatriates through its various sectors of expertise in a bid to better understand their aspirations, listen to their proposals and respond to them actively.«The Foreign Affairs Ministry will organize the National Forum of Tunisian Experts Abroad on August 6 and 7,» the same source said, adding that «it will be attended by 260 highl y qualified expatriates and will seek to devise an action plan as part of an inclusive approach.»According to the minister, the Forum will foster networking among Tunisian expatriates as well as increase their contribution to development efforts in Tunisia.ATUGE President, Amine Aloulou, called on all economic and political actors to remove the various administrative and legislative obstacles which hinder the work of Tunisian experts, at home and abroad.He put emphasis on consolidating ties between the various diaspora members at home and abroad.Tunisia Global Forum brought together over 1,500 participants, 100 companies and start-ups as well as national and international institutions.The event was is in partnership with the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, the World Bank, the Start-up and innovative SMEs Tunisia project, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the French Office of Immigration and Integration.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
