Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar stated that Tunisia-Egypt cooperation relations have made a qualitative development in recent years, affirming willingness to further foster them. He added in an address on Tuesday on Egypt’s National Day, that the boosting of cooperation would encompass economic and investment fields, and in particular priority sectors. Ammar notably mentioned in this regard, food safety, pharmaceutical industry and new technologies, besides keenness to ensure the free movement of the two countries’ citizens. Quoted in a Foreign Affairs Department press release, Nabil Ammar pointed out that the 16th session of the Tunisian-Egyptian High Joint Commission, held in May 2022 in Tunis, had helped carry out an objective and exhaustive assessment of the bilateral cooperation process. At this meeting, the two sides had examined ways to scale up partnership relations and explore new opportunities to further develop them. He assured that in the future, the private sector would play a key role in consolidating bilateral cooperation. In another connection, the Minister voiced satisfaction at the consultation and coordination established between the two countries, particularly on current issues, affirming that Tunisia now aspires to foster its relations at the level of regional and international institutions.
