Post: Ntutu Commissions Mega Projects at Angata Barrikoi

Narok: The Narok county government has commissioned three Early Child Development Education (ECDE) classrooms, a computer laboratory, and a health center at Angata Barrikoi area in Trans Mara South Sub County.

According to Kenya News Agency, the modern computer laboratory was commissioned at Ng'endalel Secondary School, while the three ECDE classrooms were built at Kapsinendet, Koibeyot, and Kimugul primary schools. Additionally, a new health block was commissioned at Angata Health Center, along with two boreholes in Angata town and at the health center.

Speaking while commissioning the projects, Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu stated that the three classrooms have a capacity to hold 40 students each and are fully equipped with ECDE compliant furniture. Ntutu emphasized that the classrooms will significantly enhance the accessibility of ECDE learning centers for pre-primary learners in Angata ward.

Ntutu added that the new hospital block will improve the efficiency of health services for the community. The facility includes a pharmacy, antenatal unit, child welfare section, laboratory, nutrition unit, consultation rooms, and public washrooms. He noted that this modern facility replaces an older structure that had been in use since 1974, thereby improving access to quality healthcare.

Addressing water concerns, the governor highlighted that the two newly commissioned boreholes will address the longstanding issue of water scarcity that has affected Angata Barrikoi ward. Ntutu recalled that during his previous visit, residents expressed concerns about the persistent water shortage, which required water to be transported by donkeys. He assured that this challenge has now been comprehensively resolved.

The governor underscored the county government's commitment to grassroots development, ensuring that all residents have access to good health services, clean water, and conducive learning environments for young children. Other ongoing development projects in the ward include the construction of a modern livestock sale yard and grading of feeder roads.

The commissioning event was attended by Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johannah Ngeno and area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Joseph Koech.
