Post: Ntutu Leads Narok in Celebrating 62nd Madaraka Day

Narok: Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, alongside County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia, led the 62nd Madaraka Day celebrations held at Maasaantare Comprehensive School in Ololulung'a Ward, Narok South Sub-County. The event drew hundreds of residents from across the region.

According to Kenya News Agency, the celebrations featured vibrant performances of traditional Maasai music and dance, showcasing the community's cultural heritage. In his address, Governor Ole Ntutu thanked the residents for attending in large numbers to commemorate the day Kenya attained internal self-rule in 1963.

The Governor acknowledged the unity and patriotism demonstrated by the people and reflected on the progress the country-and Narok County in particular-has made since independence. He highlighted significant achievements made under his administration and past governments across sectors such as infrastructure development, improved access to education, and expanded healthcare services.

He noted that roads have been upgraded to enhance connectivity, more classrooms and learning materials have been provided in schools, and health facilities have been equipped to better serve the growing population. 'We are proud of how far we've come as a county and as a nation. These developments are a testament to the hard work and resilience of our people. As we celebrate this historic day, we also recommit ourselves to building an even better future for the next generation,' said Governor Ntutu.
