PCC Group Demands End to Corruption and Intimidation in Church.

Douala: A group of Christians within the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon, identifying themselves as ‘Truth House,’ have raised concerns over the state of morality within the Church. They held a press conference in Bonaberie, Douala 4 Council area, expressing their dissatisfaction with what they describe as rampant corruption, intimidation, injustice, bullying, and insults among church leaders and members.

According to Cameroon News Agency, the press conference was organized ahead of the Church’s executive body elections set for November 13-15, 2024. The group accused church leaders of manipulating election processes by having their preferred lists and pressuring others to vote accordingly, even going so far as to intimidate those who do not comply. They criticized the exclusion of experienced pastors from the election race, expressing their hope for a transformative outcome that would restore holiness within the Church.

‘Truth House’ emphasized that those elected to the Synod’s top positions should be indep
endent and not influenced by internal power brokers. They alleged that the Church’s leadership had deviated from ethical standards, eroding the congregation’s trust and confidence in the hierarchy. Members of the group called for leaders to set a positive example, highlighting the absence of peace within the PCC as a significant concern.
