Post: Police Call for Calm as Investigations Continue into Bodaboda Rider’s Death

Baricho: Authorities have called for calm and patience from the residents of the Mukithi area in Baricho, Ndia Constituency, Kirinyaga County as investigations into a tragic incident continue. A bodaboda rider died under circumstances that were initially believed to be suicide. However, post-mortem reports and preliminary investigations by law enforcement agents are now pointing at a possible murder.

According to Kenya News Agency, Joseph Nguru Munyaro was allegedly murdered and his body dumped in the Kiwe River at Mukithi along the Ndia-Kirinyaga Central constituencies' border, with his new motorcycle found at the location where his body was dumped. OCPD Baricho Police Station, Josephat Mudavadi, confirms that the investigation is progressing and stresses that they are committed to uncovering the truth as well as bringing justice to the affected family.

'Efforts are ongoing to identify all individuals involved; we understand the community is in deep pain. We are with you in this difficult time,' the OCPD said. He asked those with relevant information to reach out to the investigating officers to assist in the process and build watertight cases.

'Let us give the investigation time to reach a conclusion. We are almost there, and we ask for your cooperation to help build a strong case. The authorities are appealing to any affected individuals or witnesses to come forward and provide information that may assist in the investigation,' Mudavadi appealed.

Yesterday, angry mourners dumped a coffin with the body of a 28-year-old man at Baricho police station as a way of expressing anger, accusing police of failing to arrest key suspects. They left the station, proceeded to the suspect's homestead, and set his property on fire.
