Nairobi: President William Ruto has implemented a series of nominations and redeployments within Kenya's Foreign Service. In an Executive Action, the President has realigned the nation's Foreign Service to optimise performance and enhance service delivery, aligning with the Administration's Manifesto under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
According to Kenya News Agency, the President has nominated and redeployed various Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and Consul Generals. The press statement, dated Friday, August 15, 2025, stated that this move is in accordance with Article 132(2) of the Constitution. The list of nominees for High Commissioners and Ambassadors includes Amb. Galma Mukhe Boru for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Amb. Anthony Mwaniki Muchiri for Ankara, Turkey, Amb. Lucy Kiruthu for Bangkok, Thailand, Mr. Henry Wambuma for Bujumbura, Burundi, Amb. Catherine Kirumba Karemu for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Amb. George Morara Orina for Dublin, Ireland, Mr. Abdirashid Salat Abdille for Jakarta, Indonesia, Amb. Maurice Odhiambo Makoloo for London, United Kingdom, Amb. Joseph Musyoka Masila for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Amb. Edwin Afande for Vienna, Austria, and Hon. Florence Chepngetich Bore for Windhoek, Namibia.
The nominees for Consul Generals include Amb. Mohamed Ramadhan Ruwange for Arusha, Tanzania, Ms. Jayne Jepkorir for Dubai, UAE, and Ms. Judy Kiaria Nkumiri for Goma, DRC.
In addition, the cluster of Deputy Heads of Mission nominees includes Mr. Mohamed Amin Sheikh Nuh for Berlin, Germany, Amb. Kipkosgei Toroitich for Kampala, Uganda, Amb. Moni Manyange for Kinshasa, DRC, Amb. Geoffrey Eyanae Kaituko for Ottawa, Canada, Amb. Suleiman Ibrahim Roba for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Mr. David Mwangi Karanja for Seoul, Korea.
President Ruto has submitted these nominations for Foreign Service appointments to the National Assembly for consideration and approval, as required by the Constitution.
