President Saied issues directives for immediate restoration of Kasbah Mosque in Tunis

President Kais Saied has issued directives for the immediate restoration of the Kasbah Mosque in Tunis, during an unannounced visit he made on Monday evening.

According to a Presidency press release, the President inspected the state of neglect in the Kasbah Mosque, which has been closed since 2011.

“This mosque is one of Tunisia’s Islamic landmarks, ordered to be built by the founder of the Hafsid state Abu Zakariya al-Hafsi, and was completed in 633 AH, corresponding to 1235 AD.”
