Post: Prime Minister Evaluates Mid-Term Progress on Ministerial Objectives

Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo conducted a mid-term evaluation of the objectives contract for the Minister of Industrial Development, Trade, Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises, Serge Gnaniodem Poda. Minister Poda presented the results of his actions in the first half of the year, indicating an overall implementation rate of 60.85% for the 60 activities planned in his contract.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the objectives contract is structured around three strategic axes: the promotion of trade and services, the development of the industrial and craft sector, and good economic and financial governance. Minister Poda emphasized that the implementation rate of 60.85% exceeded the target of 50%, demonstrating progress ahead of the work plan.

Priority actions in the first half of the year included efforts to combat commercial fraud, anti-competitive practices, and non-regulatory price fixing. Support for certain industrial units was also prioritized. Minister Poda highlighted the nearing completion of rehabilitation work for BRAFASO and the enhancement of production capacities at Minoterie du Faso (MINOFA) in Banfora, with the installation of two new production lines.

The Minister announced the upcoming inauguration of the National Support Center for Artisanal Cotton Processing (CNATAC) in Bobo-Dioulasso, planned for the second half of 2025. This initiative aligns with a sustainable vision for supporting the artisanal sector.

In terms of public enterprise management, the minister noted positive financial outcomes achieved through performance-based governance. State-owned companies under the ministry's supervision reached a total turnover of 24 billion CFA francs, reflecting the effectiveness of their efforts.

With the year nearing its end, the Ministry plans to build on its achievements, accelerate the completion of remaining actions, and enhance the socio-economic impact of its initiatives.
