Representatives of the Tunisian Network for the Fight against Normalisation, a coalition of civil society organisations, as well as many Tunisian citizens Sunday staged a rally – the eleventh in a row – outside the US embassy in Tunis to demand an end to the aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, and the expulsion of the US ambassador in Tunis.

Protesters waved images of Palestinian martyrs and chanted slogans denouncing “US terrorism,” the slaughter of children and attacks on hospitals in Gaza.

“The US administration is the mastermind of the Zionist attack on Gaza,” Dhaou Jalali, member of the network told TAP. Tunisia, known for its unwavering support of the Palestinian cause throughout history, can only contribute to putting end to the US practices by means of expelling its ambassador, especially as this aggression has been raging for over 90 days now and has grown intolerable.”

“The US is to blame for the slaughter of children in Palestine as it is in Syria, Iraq and Libya,”
Jalali added.

The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, already under a 16-year Israeli blockade, is deteriorating exponentially, the UN said, with an acute shortage of food, medical supplies and fuel.

The Israeli aggression has claimed so far 22,835 lives, the Palestinian health ministry Sunday said. 58,416 sustained injuries.
