Post: PSV Operators and Commuters Praise Restoration of Bus Parks Amid Heavy Rains

Nairobi: The Uasin Gishu County Government has reassured residents of its unwavering commitment to restore and enhance transport infrastructure in the wake of persistent heavy rains that have caused significant damage to key bus parks in Eldoret City.

According to Kenya News Agency, on Wednesday, County Secretary Philip Melly and County Attorney Sylvester Metto, alongside County Executive Committee Member for Roads and Public Works Abraham Serem and other officials, assessed the ongoing repair efforts at the Iten/Chepkoilel and Langas bus parks. During the inspection, Mr. Serem emphasized that Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii's administration is dedicated to swiftly addressing the challenges posed by stormwater to ensure commuter safety and maintain smooth business operations in Eldoret City.

Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operators expressed their appreciation for the County Government's prompt intervention. Led by chairmen Wilson Amdany (Kongtai Sacco), Michael Komen (Chepkoilel Sacco), David Kariuki (Langas Sacco), and Michael Wachira (Munyaka Sacco), they conveyed their gratitude to Governor Dr. Bii for addressing their concerns. Mr. Amdany, speaking on behalf of the operators, noted that the repairs would facilitate their operations and benefit the thousands of commuters who depend on these facilities daily.

The PSV operators also committed to collaborating with the County Government to tackle sector challenges, ensuring the provision of efficient and safe transport services to the public. Present at the inspection were Geoffrey Tanui, Chief Officer for Roads, and Engineer Julius Ronoh, Director for Roads.
