Post: Public-private partnerships drive development in Trans Mara

The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative is emerging as a strategic mechanism to leverage the strengths of both the government and private sectors.Narok County Governor, Patrick Ntutu, commissioned several key projects in Keyian Ward, Trans Mara West Sub-county, showcasing the power of these collaborations.The initiatives, undertaken by the Narok County Government in partnership with local communities and the African Medical Research Foundation (AMREF), are set to foster socio-economic development in the region, significantly improving service delivery for residents.The commissioned projects include the new Ilwuasi Nkishu Secondary School, a community borehole, and a solar power project at Naarolong Dispensary.Governor Ntutu emphasised that the facilities demonstrate the potential for local residents to collaborate with the County government, development partners, and the private sector, creating flagship projects that positively impact the lives of Narok residents.He announced plans for a n ew Sh10 million maternity wing, aimed at replacing the small, stalled facility built by the previous administration, and pledged Sh2 million to complete it and support the health staff.In a commitment to enhancing education in line with the new CBC education system, Ntutu also announced plans to construct a laboratory at the new secondary school.Ntutu praised AMREF for their financial support in projects such as the borehole and solar power system at the dispensary, noting that the borehole will provide a consistent water supply for the community and the school.Accompanying the Governor was Tourism PS John Ololtuaa, who commended Governor Ntutu for his development efforts across the County.Ololtuaa also emphasised the importance of Public-Private Partnerships as catalysts for development and a transformative force in communities.Source: Kenya News Agency
