Qatar and Benin Explore Aviation and Cultural Cooperation During President Talon’s Visit


Doha: The State of Qatar and the Republic of Benin have issued a joint statement marking President Patrice Talon’s working visit to Doha. The visit was held at the invitation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, with a focus on enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to African Press Organization, during the visit, both countries expressed their interest in strengthening cooperation in the aviation sector. This includes exploring potential collaboration between their national airlines, Qatar Airways and Amazon Airlines, as well as the possibility of establishing a direct flight between Qatar and Benin. This initiative aims to boost Benin’s economic appeal by attracting investments, stimulating tourism, and enhancing both freight transport and cultural exchange.

Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to the development of the African continent and expressed its willingness to support initiatives in infrastructure, education, and health. This commitment aligns with Qatar’s interna
tional development agenda and the priorities of its partners in Africa.

Moreover, the two countries agreed to deepen cultural cooperation by organizing exhibitions and fostering collaboration between cultural institutions and museums. This effort seeks to expand the scope of cultural diplomacy between Qatar and Benin.

The joint statement concluded with both nations reiterating their commitment to intensifying bilateral consultations, coordinating positions in multilateral forums, and promoting a shared vision for an international order founded on sovereignty, inclusiveness, and prosperity.
