Vihiga county: Western Regional Commissioner (RC) Irungu Macharia has led pupils, teachers, and education officials in planting over 2,000 assorted tree seedlings and handed over another 2,000 seedlings to the local community at Chamakanga Comprehensive School in Sabatia Constituency, Vihiga County as the country marked this year's Mazingira Day. During the occasion, Macharia urged pupils to plant trees as part of environmental conservation.
According to Kenya News Agency, Macharia emphasized the importance of youth involvement in environmental activities, urging them to grow trees as a way of mitigating climate change and combating deforestation.
