In a bid to integrate ICT and leverage technology in schools, various schools in Kipipiri Sub-County in Nyandarua have benefitted from digital TVs and other learning materials from local philanthropists.Kipipiri Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Paul Wambaire reiterated the need to empower the learners holistically so that they can be competitive and tech-savvy once they leave school.He lauded the efforts by private citizens giving back to society, saying that learning materials will aid in proper learning, especially in remote schools.His sentiments were echoed by Toilets Africa Chief Executive Officer Josephine Wacera, during a fete to issue various schools with assorted items, including sanitary towels, to schoolgirls.She called for concerted efforts by education stakeholders and alumni to support the schools to help boost their academic performances.Wacera, challenged the government to ensure computer labs in remote schools are fully equipped and connected to the internet, which she argued w ould make learners enjoy digital learning while at the same time becoming tech savvy.Lereshwa Secondary School Principal Grace Mwangi, while thanking the well-wishers, noted that the equipment will aid in education and integration of ICT in classes while the digital TV will enable digital learning.Source: Kenya News Agency
