Post: School Appeals for Medical Assistance for Bright Student with Rare Eye Condition

Busia: Teachers at Kisoko Girls Primary School are urgently appealing for medical assistance for 14-year-old grade 7 student Patience Adhiambo, who is suffering from a rare eye condition. Despite her challenges, Adhiambo remains one of the top students at the school.

According to Kenya News Agency, Adhiambo's condition has caused her significant pain and forced her to miss many classes as she seeks specialized treatments at Sabatia Hospital in Kakamega and Tororo Hospitals in Uganda. Her teachers have been supporting her medical needs, but they are now calling on well-wishers and hospitals to help provide the specialized treatment she requires.

Led by Nancy Wanga, the Deputy Head Teacher, and Rodgers Osikuku, her class teacher, the school is appealing to Kenyans, health facilities, and leaders to assist in providing the necessary medical care for Patience. Despite her condition, Patience has excelled in her studies and dreams of becoming a doctor.

Wanga emphasized the importance of the appeal, stating, "We, as the family of Kisoko Girls Primary School, are issuing a passionate appeal to all well-wishers and well-established hospitals with specialized doctors, to come and correct this rare eye condition which Patience is having." She noted that any help would be a significant success for both the school and the broader community.

Coming from a humble background, Adhiambo cannot afford the monthly SHA subscriptions needed for her continued care. However, she remains hopeful that the support from Kenyans will allow her to achieve her dreams.
