Post: Secondary School Candidates To Benefit From NGAAF Kitty

Candidates sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) this year and enrolled in various secondary schools in Kirinyaga will benefit from a programme initiated by County Women Representative Jane Njeri Maina, which is aimed at providing personal effects to both boys and girls.The County MP, who has allocated a larger portion of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) to the Education sector, said she will provide dignity bags containing soap, toothpaste, a vest, a brush, and crocs, with girls receiving sanitary pads.Speaking when he led the distribution at Kimwathi Day Secondary School in Gichugu, Kirinyaga, she said that in empowering a girl child, there is also need to consider the boy child too, for equality sake.Despite little allocation to NGAAF Kitty, she promised to look for partners to support the programme.'Gen Z recently took to the streets following societal imbalances on the fair distribution of resources in the country,' Njeri said.She asked other lea ders in the County to follow suit and address the challenges facing the youth.Source: Kenya News Agency
