Post: Siaya County Assembly Holds Special Seating in Honour of Raila Odinga

Siaya: Siaya County Assembly today held a special seating in honour of the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, with members hailing his commitment to the ideals of democracy.

According to Kenya News Agency, the session was led by Speaker George Okode and his deputy Oduor Odongo, with various members praising the Orange Democratic Movement leader for his stand against oppression and his efforts in fighting for the rights and freedoms of Kenyans.

Speaker Okode stated, "His commitment to the ideals of democracy, equity, and good governance earned him accolades both at home and across the world." He highlighted Raila's leadership, wisdom, and devotion to dialogue over division, which left a mark in Kenya. In Siaya County, residents attribute excellent leadership to Raila's mentorship, who passed away yesterday morning in India.

During the session, Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) called for peace and unity as the country mourns the fallen leader. Raila's body arrived in the country this morning, and he will be buried in Bondo on Sunday.
