According to the residents, Wandayi, who is also the current Member of Parliament for Ugunja constituency was up to the task and called on the National Assembly to hasten the vetting process to enable him, together with other appointees to take up their positions.
Led by ODM party’s Ugunja branch youth leader Sylvester Owino and Siaya resident, Alfred Wagude, the residents said that Wandayi’s development track record speaks volumes.
Among their expectations, they said, was that once Wandayi assumed the Energy and Petroleum docket, he will prioritize the last mile connectivity of electricity to enable more Kenyans especially in the rural areas join the national grid.
Mildred Adhiambo while thanking the President, also hailed Azimio leader Raila Odinga for allowing the President to nominate his party members into the cabinet noting that it was a wise decision.
Adhiambo said the move will help quell the tension that has seen youths hold anti-government protests across the country.
