A young man who allegedly killed his girlfriend at a place called ‘derriere immeuble rose’ in Odza-Yaounde was found dead a stone’s throw from the crime scene on January 30, 2024.
It is believed he took away his own life by hanging.
Sources said the alleged murderer, killed his girlfriend for dumping him because of his violent character for another man.
Those who know about the incident said on Monday, January 29, 2024, he invited the lady to an unusual place to collect money for their three-year-old daughter’s upkeep.
She was accompanied by her new boyfriend whom she asked to wait for her at a distance from the appointment venue. After a long silence without returning, the new boyfriend followed the path she took but only discovered she had been decapitated.
He raised an alarm and a manhunt was launched to lay hands on the alleged murderer, who was later found hanging dead on a tree, not far from where the lady was murdered.
An investigation has been opened to shed light on the passionate crime.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has decided a social amnesty consisting of waiving penalties for late payment of debts owed by private companies to social security funds, starting in March 2024, Minister of Social Affairs, Malek Zahi announced Wednesday in Tunis.
At a press conference held at the headquarters of the ministry, Zahi said this new tax amnesty, which will last for six months, will not be renewed and called on private companies to regularise their situation.
He pointed out that this operation is part of the social aspect of the measures adopted in favour of the economic fabric, as the tax amnesty will play an important role in supporting and promoting Tunisian businesses.
He recalled that the tax amnesty decided in 2022 is an effective mechanism to mobilise significant financial resources for the benefit of the social funds, as the amount of their financial resources will reach 500 million dinars in 2022.
The announcement of the amnesty comes within the framework of the State’s commitment to r
espect its social role in boosting private enterprise and improving the revenues of the social funds, he added.
In addition, the minister announced that the ministry is planning to launch a programme in the field of social dialogue based on defining the relationship between workers and employers, as well as the launch of a radio station that will be a media platform focused on disseminating information with a social dimension.
Zahi revealed that the programme aims to raise awareness of the professional rights and duties of each party, noting that the social parties will be partners in its implementation.
He emphasised the Ministry’s interest in social dialogue and its desire to develop labour relations, stressing the importance of dialogue with all stakeholders to achieve positive results in establishing a reference framework for labour relations.
