Post: Spiritual Leaders Address Concerns Over Moral Decline in Society

Narok: Two spiritual leaders in Narok County have expressed concerns regarding the declining virtues within society, which they say have contributed to rising incidents of murder, corruption, and tribalism in the country. Bishop Augustine Rugut of Gospel Outreach and Bishop Paul Mbugua of Kenya Wariba Israel Churches have voiced their apprehensions over the situation.

According to Kenya News Agency, Bishop Rugut criticized the vulgar language prevalent on social media, asserting that it fuels hatred and bitterness among Kenyans. He urged the government to implement measures to combat corruption, pointing out that citizens are increasingly valuing money over moral integrity and could resort to any means to acquire it. Rugut emphasized the importance of prayer for leaders, as advocated by the Bible, and warned against cursing or speaking negatively about them.

Bishop Rugut also called for justice for the family of the late Albert Ojwang, who died while in police custody. He criticized the opposition for promoting tribalism and fostering divisions based on regional backgrounds, urging for a return to unity and addressing past mistakes for a better future.

Bishop Mbugua, on his part, advocated for peace and national cohesion, condemning those who disseminate tribal messages to sow division. He encouraged Christians to pray fervently for peace and supported the use of dialogue to address the ongoing challenges facing the nation.
