Stock market starts week on positive note

The stock market started the week on a positive note. The benchmark index rose by 0.59% to 8899.22 points, albeit on a reduced trading volume of 2.5 million Tunisian dinars (TND), according to the daily analysis of broker Tunisie Valeurs.

At the top of the list was BIAT, which rose 3.3% to TND 92.990 on a turnover of TND 124,000.

Among the top performers, SOMOCER stood out. The ceramic specialist’s shares gained 2.9% to close at TND 0.720, contributing TND 16,000 to the market. However, despite this session’s performance, SOMOCER’s year-to-date return is still negative at -8.9%.

On the downside, the bleeding continued for ALKIMIA. The company’s shares plummeted by -4.2% to TND 32,300, traded in a meagre volume of a thousand dinars.

BH LEASING was also among the main losers of the session, as the leasing company lost 3.1% to reach TND 2.810, but on almost negligible trading volumes.

Wifack International Bank was the most traded stock of the session. The bank’s share price held steady at TND 7.970, mobilising a substantial transaction flow of TND 986,000.
