Post: Stop Vetting Identity Cards Applicants, Speaker Wetang’ula Urges

Bungoma: National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has called for a simplified vetting process before citizens are issued with identity cards. Speaking at his Bungoma residence while hosting local administrators, Wetang'ula urged chiefs and assistant chiefs to encourage youths countrywide to apply for IDs, ahead of the General Election scheduled for 2027.

According to Kenya News Agency, the Speaker also requested all politicians to mobilize all ID holders to register as voters. "Our target is to increase the number of registered voters in the country," he said.
