Tharaka Nithi Residents Celebrate Swearing-In of Kindiki as Deputy President.

Tharaka nithi: Tharaka Nithi residents erupted in celebration as Prof. Kithure Kindiki was sworn in as Kenya’s third Deputy President since the 2010 Constitution. The streets of Marimanti and Mukothima were filled with residents who expressed disbelief and joy over witnessing the event live on television.

According to Kenya News Agency, the celebrations culminated in a prayer session at Nyangumi Stadium in Marimanti, led by Rev. Paul Kithuka Njagi of the Methodist Church in Kenya Marimanti. The prayers were held to dedicate Kindiki to God, drawing parallels to the biblical anointing of David by Samuel. Rev. Njagi emphasized the importance of humility, a virtue he said has been instilled in Kindiki from a young age. He expressed gratitude to the President for the opportunity given to their community and hoped for harmonious cooperation between the President and the Deputy President for the benefit of all Kenyans.

Ms. Ann Mbathi, a Marimanti resident, conveyed her gratitude to the President, highlighting the
significance of the appointment for their small community. She likened their situation to the biblical tribe of Judah, expressing hope for unity and development under Kindiki’s leadership.

Mr. Patrick Mwenda, another resident, praised Kindiki’s humility, obedience, and discipline, traits he believes have contributed to his success. Mwenda expressed optimism for the future, confident in Kindiki’s ability to work effectively with the President and deliver meaningful development for Kenyans.

In Mukothima, Mr. David Majira expressed hopes for improvements in Tharaka Nithi County’s infrastructure, such as roads and markets, expecting that Kindiki’s position would bring tangible benefits to the region.
