Post: The Diebougou Communal Public Health Police Brigade Relaunches Its Activities

Bourgouriba: The Communal Brigade of the Public Hygiene Police conducted a raid on Tuesday in several locations in the city of Diebougou. This field trip marked the resumption of its activities. It allowed the observation of numerous unhealthy practices, but also to raise awareness and encourage the population to adopt civic behaviors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the resumption of activities by the Communal Public Health Police Brigade was marked this Tuesday by a vast monitoring and awareness-raising operation. Teams visited businesses located along the roads, the bus station, and the area around the Diebougou central market.

The findings are alarming. According to the head of the mission, Ulrich Frederic Ahmed Coulibaly, despite the numerous interventions and awareness-raising campaigns carried out by the municipality through its communication strategy, citizens continue to engage in irresponsible behavior.

"Throughout the journey, we have observed acts that challenge the collective conscience. We cannot remain silent in the face of such a situation," he stated.

The situation is sometimes perplexing. Household waste, stagnant water, and all kinds of waste are dumped near concessions or even in food processing areas.

These realities, particularly near food stores, pose real risks and dangers to the public health of the population.

Present on the ground, the president of the Special Communal Delegation of Diebougou, Aime Ouedraogo, underlined the shared responsibility of citizens.

"This dump is indeed the responsibility of local residents. We know that many diseases are linked to these dumps. This morning, we came out to say that these practices must stop," he said.

Faced with this worrying situation, some residents have expressed their desire to change their habits. For Bertine Sou/Kam, this operation is beneficial in that it aims to make the city cleaner. She urged the population to mobilize to support this sanitation initiative.

The brigade teams did not fail to congratulate the good practices observed among certain traders and residents, proof that improvement is possible.

Created in 2013, the Diebougou hygiene police force has carried out several significant initiatives since its inception. The revival of its activities reflects its commitment to building a healthy and pleasant city. The success of this mission, however, will depend on the firm and continued support of the entire population, according to officials.
