Football enthusiasts in Kenya should use the next Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections to correct the ills bedevilling soccer administration in the country, Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Performance and Delivery Management in the Executive Office of the President, Eliud Owalo, has said.Speaking in Rarieda constituency when he presented uniforms to Dero and Siger football clubs, Owalo lamented that bad governance was to blame for the poor soccer standards in the country.'As we think of how we can uplift the soccer standards in this country, we must also fix the governance,' said Owalo, the former Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy.Owalo said that the country and soccer lovers have a chance to correct the ills bedevilling soccer development in the country by ensuring that the best soccer administrators, devoid of scams, are placed to lead the spot.'If there is bad governance in football, the private sector will not put money in football,' said Owalo, who was flanked by Harambee stars and Gor Mahia FC legends, among them John Bobby Ogola, Goro Oronge, Tobias Ochola, 'Jua Kali', Peter Dawo, and George Onyango, 'Fundi'.Owalo said that the next FKF elections must be the platform for reviving soccer standards in Kenya, adding that only those keen on uplifting soccer standards and ready to exhibit good governance in football should be entrusted with football leadership.Addressing football enthusiasts, football legends urged the upcoming footballers to observe discipline and hard work if they expect to excel in their careers.Former Harambee Stars players, Tobias Ocholla and John Bobby Ogola told the youth to maintain high standards of discipline if they expect to exploit their talents to the maximum.Source: Kenya News Agency
