Post: Tunisia Global Forum: “Project Tatooine” launched to provide digital and AI training for 10,000 young talents

Tunis: "Project Tatooine," an initiative to enable the GOMYCODE company to empower with digital and AI, 10,000 young talents over 3 years in priority development areas, was launched on Tuesday on the fringes of the "Tunisia Global Forum" conference.Developed and designed with the support of AI company InstaDeep and its co-founders Karim Beguir and Zohra Slim, this initiative also aims to launch 20 digital schools in key locations, including Ettahrir, Zaghouan, Siliana, Beja, Jendouba, El Kef, Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, Kairouan, Gafsa, Monastir, Hammam Sousse, Ourdenine, Medenine, Zarziz, Djerba, Ben Guerdene, Tataouine, Kebili and Tozeur. It will also offer 4,000 internships with technology companies and promote community engagement through events and activities within the digital schools that have been launched."The main challenge in priority development areas is funding. So we initially set up the Hackerspace Tatooine programme, through which we supported students by providing financial aid covering 80% of their tuition fees. We were really surprised by the results and the level of motivation. A year later, following the launch of Hackerspace Tatooine, we are announcing the extension of the model to the whole of the country," said GOMYCODE CEO and Founder Yahya Bouhlel."Very often, the younger generation in our country is growing up in a very local economy, with many constraints in terms of finance, mobility and employment. We believe that there is a strong opportunity for this digital generation to contribute positively to a wider global economy from their cities through access to relevant education on the latest technologies, a much more global and wider labour market, AI technologies and tools to increase efficiency and productivity," he added.Bouhlel further indicated that the story of InstaDeep began in Tataouine and has successfully expanded beyond its borders. "InstaDeep's journey from Tataouine to international success shows that anything is possible. The Tatooine project aims to create more oppo rtunities of this kind, bringing about tangible change through technological education," he pointed out.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
