Post: Vihiga County Deepens Partnership to Strengthen Community Health

Nairobi: Vihiga County Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community health systems through its continued partnership with Living Goods, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to improving health outcomes at the community level.

According to Kenya News Agency, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health, Nicholas Kitungulu, hosted Ms. Betty Adera, the Deputy Country Director and Director of Programme Delivery at Living Goods, to discuss strategies for enhancing service delivery across the county.

The partnership focuses on the digitisation of community health services to strengthen community health structures and improve access to promotive and preventive care.

Speaking during the meeting, Ms. Adera appreciated the strong collaboration and support from the County Government, reaffirming Living Goods' commitment to continue working closely with Vihiga County to enhance community health outcomes.

On his part, CECM Kitungulu commended the partnership's positive impact, noting that Vihiga County recently ranked among the top nationally in meeting Community Health Promoter (CHP) performance targets, as highlighted in the latest Ministry of Health report.

He emphasised the importance of consistency and continuous improvement to ensure CHPs deliver quality services, which are critical in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Kitungulu also expressed gratitude to Living Goods for its ongoing support and reaffirmed the County Government's dedication to providing an enabling environment for the partnership to thrive and improve the wellbeing of residents.
