Vihiga: Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo hosted a delegation from the Global TeleHealth Network (GTN) led by its President, Dr. Jack Higgins, to strengthen collaboration on improving healthcare delivery in the County. The visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the County Government of Vihiga and GTN in August 2025.According to Kenya News Agency, the partnership seeks to accelerate access to quality healthcare for residents by leveraging GTN's telemedicine resources. Through the agreement, GTN will provide access to a network of about 300 doctors from Canada and the United States, who will offer remote consultations, second opinions, and medical expertise across a wide range of specialities.Governor Ottichilo stated that the collaboration will help bridge gaps in healthcare service delivery, reduce patient referral costs, and ensure faster diagnosis and treatment, especially for residents in remote and underserved areas. He added that the initiative marks a mi lestone in Vihiga's journey towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and improving health outcomes for county residents.
