Yaoundé: The Yaoundé International Business School (YIBS) marked a historic moment on Saturday with its 2024 matriculation ceremony held at the St. Peter and Paul Parish Hall in Simbock. The event welcomed over 1,130 new students to the YIBS family, a testament to the institution’s exponential growth and its unwavering commitment to educating future leaders and innovators.
According to Cameroon News Agency, from its humble beginnings with just 10 students in 2013, YIBS has become a beacon of quality professional education in Cameroon. This year’s matriculation was a celebration of a shared vision – to develop competent and innovative professionals with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. YIBS continues to offer industry-relevant programmes that equip university level students with the skills needed to excel in a rapidly changing world.
The ceremony included the official matriculation oath, where students pledged to uphold the core values of YIBS: Professionalism, Innovation, Humility and Optimism. The newly el
ected Student Union Government (SUG) and Delegates were also installed, signalling the start of a dynamic year of student leadership and engagement.
The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. Anyambod Emmanuel. A. delivered a keynote address, urging the freshmen to embark on the transformative journey ahead with resilience, dedication and open-mindedness. He highlighted YIBS’ commitment to providing a more holistic education through its cutting-edge curriculum, hands-on learning opportunities with the newly operational Business, Consulting and Incubator Center, and a series of seminars and workshops on soft skill development. The Vice Chancellor highlighted the impact of YIBS graduates in driving positive change and contributing to socio-economic development across the country.
