Reports are emerging of a mass arrest operation underway in the Molyko neighborhood of Buea on September 18. According to sources in the area, individuals are being detained both with and without their national identification documents.

The arrests come just hours before the scheduled screening of a documentary film featuring President Paul Biya in Buea. The event is expected to draw significant attention from government officials, local elites, and supporters of the ruling CPDM party.

These recent arrests also coincide with a two-week separatist-imposed lockdown in the Buea subdivision, which has been marked by sporadic arrests and heightened security measures. The ongoing tensions in the region have raised concerns about the safety and well-being of residents.
