Post: Court Detains Man For Allegedly Killing His Brother’s Wife And Children

A Kisii court on Thursday ordered that Alex Migosi who allegedly murdered his brother's wife and two children be detained for ten days pending the completion of investigations.Kisii Resident Magistrate Caroline Rono granted the Prosecution the request to hold the 27-year-old suspect at Rioma Police Station to allow the investigation officer to probe the case.Magistrate Rono said the order of detention would not in any way prejudice the suspect given that he surrendered himself to the police.Prosecutor Job Akello had earlier requested the court for ten days to allow them to conduct a mental assessment on the accused person and a post-mortem for the deceased. The court also heard that the suspect's security was not guaranteed at home due to the crime committed. It was alleged that the suspect who hails from Marani Sub County, Kisii County had a heated argument with his elder brother Patrick Omuga on Tuesday before sneaking into his house (Omuga's) and killing his 23-year-old wife and their two children .He fled the scene after committing the gruesome act and later surrendered himself to the police that evening.Source: Kenya News Agency
