The data of 181,366 voters have been updated till October 5, the Independent Higher Authority for the Elections (ISIE) said on Thursday. 979,030 citizens followed up on requests to update their data in order to vote in the local elections, ISIE Spokesperson Mohamed Tlili Mansri pointed out. "We hope that requests for updates will be in record number," he had told TAP earlier this week. Over 3,000 field staff were deployed to update voter data in line with clear-cut plans divided into projects. The budget for local elections would be similar to previous ones, i.e. TND 40 million, Mansri said, adding that the official budget audit will be conducted after the end of the electoral process.
