Djerba welcomes around a thousand tourists for the Flay Away Festival

The island of Djerba is hosting for the first time the Fly Away Festival, in its sixth edition, after having been organised in Italy in its last session.

The first artistic evening of this event saw the arrival of a thousand artists, music lovers and organisers, accompanied by a media delegation. The event is organised with the participation of the Tunisian Tourist Office in order to promote Tunisia, the South of Tunis and Djerba-Zarzis as a tourist destination, especially at a time outside the summer season, according to Hichem Mahouachi, the local tourism representative.

On Monday, four flights from Belgium arrived at Djerba-Zarzis airport, carrying around 700 Belgian tourists, as part of a group of irregular flights to ensure the transport of tourist participants, including five flights to Djerba airport and two flights to Tozeur airport.

This tourist art festival will continue until September 22 with a series of artistic evenings and accompanying programmes aimed at promoting the destination of Djerba and its peculiarities.
