In a video that was posted online on Monday, April 15, 2024, from Donga Mantung, North West region, ADF fighters recently enforced a ghost town order by burning 12 bikes belonging to individuals who violated their directive.'We are in Nkambe, these civilians did not want to respect the ghost town, this is ADF life, we have seized all these bikes, no shaking…independence mean independence,' a fighter said in a video, adding that they will subsequently reinforce their ghost town should it be violated.The term 'ghost town' typically signifies a protest measure where activities are halted, often as a political statement. In conflict regions like Donga Mantung, such actions by armed groups can have significant implications for local populations and the ongoing dynamics of the conflict.The fighters said they were from the Bui Brigade of the armed group.On February 11, 2024, an explosive was detonated in Nkambe at the march-past event killing at least two children and injuring dozens.
