Post: Dr. Mamounata Belem/OuEdraogo Unveils Her First Literary Work in Ouagadougou


Ouagadougou: Former Minister of Water and Sanitation, Dr. Mamounata Belem/OuEdraogo, unveiled her inaugural literary work, ‘God, faithful, by my side,’ in a dedication ceremony held on Wednesday. This book serves as a testament to her unwavering belief in the presence of God throughout her academic, university, spiritual, and political endeavors.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Belem/OuEdraogo expressed her desire to share her experiences, emphasizing the omnipresence of God’s powerful influence in her life. She hopes her testimony will inspire those who doubt His mercy to place their trust and confidence in Him. The book is particularly aimed at encouraging young people to embrace faith in God and live by His universal love, with the assurance that ‘we are never lost’ and that ‘all our projects will succeed.’



The dedication event was attended by notable figures from religious, scientific, political, and administrative sectors. Professor Stanislas Ouaro, the former Minister of National Education, lauded the book as a “well-written, enjoyable” work that not only strengthens faith but also serves as a conduit for encountering God. He highlighted how the author narrates her journey through academic, scientific, and political challenges, overcoming them through faith, while advocating for mutual aid and solidarity.



The book, ‘God, faithful, at my side,’ comprises 123 pages organized into 17 chapters and 5 parts, and is available for purchase at 3,000 FCFA. Dr. Belem/OuEdraogo has held esteemed positions, including Minister of Water and Director of Research at the National Center for Scientific and Technological Research (CNRST), and has made significant contributions to plant biology, ecology, and ethnobotany research.
