Mouhoun: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Bondoukuy, Lazare Bado, chaired an emergency meeting concerning preparations for the new school year in the western zone of the commune. This meeting involved educational and security stakeholders who gathered to assess the current state of infrastructure and student availability in anticipation of the upcoming school year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting aimed to evaluate the condition of schools in the area and identify potential challenges that might hinder the smooth commencement of the academic year. Participants included the management team of the Bondoukuy Basic Education District (CEB), officials from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), school directors, Village Development Committees (CVD), and social partners.
Lazare Bado highlighted the significant challenges faced during this school reopening period. He encouraged attendees to focus on ensuring that students are present in classrooms, maintaining cleanliness in school environments, and guaranteeing the availability of necessary educational infrastructure.
The discussions during the meeting uncovered several concerning issues. The Bladi school had completely collapsed, the roof of the Bolomakote school was damaged by a strong wind, and a classroom at the Wiena school had also collapsed. Additionally, there was the destruction of school textbooks, birth certificates, and various educational materials.
Despite these challenges, the PDS assured participants that the city hall would implement emergency measures to facilitate the continuation of educational activities in more suitable conditions, while working toward long-term solutions. He expressed his gratitude to those involved for their dedication and urged them to maintain their commitment to ensuring a successful start to the school year.
