Post: Former Head of Public Service, Francis Kimemia Mourns Raila

Nyandarua: Former Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia has eulogized former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as an astute leader who was able to separate his politics from his work as a professional government official.

According to Kenya News Agency, Kimemia shared fond memories of when former President Mwai Kibaki had to work with the ODM Party leader to form the Government of National Unity in an effort to bring normalcy when peace was needed at the height of the 2007 post-election violence.

Kimemia recalls how often times, Raila would sacrifice his political interests to ensure the country remained at peace, adding that it would take a long time for the country to produce another leader like him.

Other leaders from Nyandarua County, among them County Assembly Speaker Waiganjo Wachira, shared similar sentiments, saying the late Raila Odinga would be remembered for generations to come.
