Post: Government Reaffirms Commitment to Equitable Development Across Regions

Nambale: The Head of Public Service and Chief of Staff, Felix Koskei, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring equitable development across all regions of the country. Speaking at Lupida Primary School in Nambale Sub-County, Koskei urged Kenyans to support the government and its development projects aimed at transforming the country.

According to Kenya News Agency, Koskei emphasized the government's dedication to inclusive national development initiatives, regardless of socio-political status. He highlighted various initiatives such as the women enterprise fund, youth fund, affordable fertilizer, and the NYOTA project, all targeting the economic improvement of every Kenyan.

During the event, Koskei encouraged all Kenyans to plant trees equivalent to their age every rainy season in support of the government's target to plant 15 billion trees by 2032. He noted that 30,000 trees were planted on the day, with a total of 340,000 trees already planted in the county.

The Principal Secretary for Economic Planning, Boniface Makokha, announced plans to launch forums for discussions on economic and planning matters. The department is aiming to train community leaders to collect data for project monitoring and is set to introduce Gumzo la Uchumi Mashinani for national public dialogue on bottom-up planning. Makokha also mentioned the review of Vision 2030 to inform future long-term plans.

Principal Secretary for the State Department of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Susan Mang'eni, encouraged the youth to engage with the NYOTA program to secure capital for starting businesses. She highlighted the 80% repayment rate of the hustler fund in Busia County and urged defaulters to clear their debts to improve their credit limits.

The National CDF Board Chairperson, Olago Aluoch, noted the issuance of two buses to Lupida and Siera Secondary Schools, valued at 7.6 million each. These buses are expected to serve the wider community and generate revenue for the schools.
