Post: KDF Pledges Transparency in Recruitment

Nairobi: The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability during the ongoing national recruitment exercise across the country. Speaking during the recruitment drive at the Deputy County Commissioner's (DCC) Grounds in Chuka North, Tharaka Nithi County, Lieutenant Colonel Humphrey Sadas, the recruitment officer, said the exercise attracted an impressive turnout of 137 young men eager to join the forces and serve their country.

According to Kenya News Agency, Lt. Col. Sadas commended the youth for their discipline and enthusiasm, noting that their participation demonstrated true patriotism and readiness to protect the nation. 'We are following the official KDF recruitment criteria, which include rigorous physical exercises and thorough medical examinations to ensure only the most qualified candidates are selected,' said Lt. Col. Sadas.

He emphasized that the recruitment process strictly adheres to Articles 10, 27, and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the Kenya Defence Forces Act, which promote transparency, fairness, equal opportunity, and merit in public service. Lt. Col. Sadas cautioned the public against engaging in corruption or bribery, warning that the KDF maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward such acts.

'I urge candidates and members of the public to report any cases of bribery or fraud. Recruitment into the Kenya Defence Forces is absolutely free, and no one should pay to secure a slot,' he stressed. He added that the ongoing recruitment exercise is fully digital, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and the elimination of fake recruitment letters or manipulation.

'The digital system enhances accountability and efficiency while ensuring the process remains credible and transparent,' he said. Lt. Col. Sadas further explained that recruitment opportunities are distributed based on national population data and institutional needs, clarifying that not all stations are allocated female recruitment slots.

He thanked local administrators, the public, and KDF leadership for their cooperation and support, noting that the turnout was highly encouraging. 'The turnout was commendable, and we appreciate all who came forward with determination to serve their country,' he concluded.
