Post: Launch of ‘Faso Mebo Nando’ Marks Start of Regional Development Initiative in Koudougou

Koudougou: The citizens' initiative "Faso Mebo Nando" was officially launched in Koudougou, the capital of the Nando region, marking the start of a project focused on producing construction materials and gathering contributions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw significant participation from administrative, military, paramilitary, customary, and religious authorities, alongside representatives from civil society organizations. The governor of the Nando region, Adama Jean Yves Bere, presided over the ceremony, emphasizing the event's alignment with the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, which focuses on advancing urban planning and infrastructure development.

Governor Bere announced the commencement of manufacturing materials, particularly paving stones, and the reception of donations. He lauded the stakeholders for their mobilization and urged the continuation of this effort to ensure the success of "Faso Mebo" in the region. The governor called for national pride and self-reliance, appealing to the populace to demonstrate their capability to develop the country independently.

He encouraged unity among the region's residents, inviting them to support the project, which has been in preparation since July. Governor Bere mentioned the upcoming official laying of paving stones in Koudougou, aiming to extend the initiative across the Nando region.

Physical participation was highlighted as essential by the governor, encouraging those without equipment to volunteer their labor under professional supervision. Contributions to worker catering were also welcomed.

The initiative has sparked a wave of solidarity. Abdoulaye Tiendrebeogo of "Excellence Paves" mobilized twenty-four employees and made a material donation valued at two million CFA francs. The regional employers' association and workers from the Saint-Augustin center contributed materials like cement, shovels, and gloves. A delegation from Reo supported the effort with two tons of cement.

The logistics center, particularly the site's kitchen, has become a hub of activity, with local women leaders providing meals for young participants involved in paving stone production. The event was honored by about twenty traditional chiefs who pledged their support, highlighting the regional commitment to autonomy and development.

"Faso Mebo Nando" is now underway, showcasing the community's dedication to becoming architects of their own future.
