Post: Makueni County Prepares for Smooth Conduct of National Examinations

Wote: At least a total of 81,716 candidates will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations in Makueni County in 2025. The revelations were made by the Makueni County Quality Assurance Officer (CQAO), Mr. Richard Mulozya, while speaking to Kenya News Agency (KNA) in his Wote town office, where he disclosed that a total of 30,672 candidates will sit for KCSE this year.

According to Kenya News Agency, Mulozya stated that 14,838 boys and 15,834 girls will participate in the examination, which kicked off on the 21st of this month with French orals, music, and home science planning, among others. Mulozya assured that the county is well-prepared to conduct the national examinations this year, with Centre Managers and all involved personnel briefed accordingly.

The distribution of candidates across sub-counties includes Makueni with 4,811, Mukaa with 3,375, Mbooni East with 3,363, Makindu with 1,956, Kibwezi with 2,534, Kathozweni with 2,456, Kambu with 2,697, Kilungu with 1,964, Nzaui with 4,095, and Mbooni West with 3,421 candidates.

In the Kenya Junior Schools Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations, there will be a total of 28,217 candidates, comprising 14,671 boys and 13,506 girls. The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will see a total of 22,867 candidates, with 11,677 boys and 11,190 girls.

Speaking to KNA separately, the Makueni County Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Director, Abubakar Hassan, highlighted that there will be a total of 437 supervisors and 1,673 invigilators to oversee the KCSE examinations. He further noted that there will be 1,311 supervisors and 3,367 invigilators ensuring the smooth conduct of the KJSEA and KPSEA examinations. The KPSEA examinations are scheduled from October 27 to 29, while the KJSEA will occur from October 27 to November 3, with all Centre managers already briefed accordingly.
