Post: Mudavadi Hails Government’s Renewed Global Peace Initiatives

Vihiga: Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi hailed the government for its renewed global efforts towards peace, saying harmonious coexistence remains the cornerstone of stability and development. Speaking during Mazingira Day celebrations in Vihiga county, Mudavadi praised the ongoing peace negotiations between Israel and Gaza, describing them as a positive step toward ending years of conflict and suffering.

According to Kenya News Agency, Mudavadi expressed concern over continued unrest in Sudan, Russia, and Ukraine, noting that the humanitarian and economic consequences of these wars extend far beyond the national borders of the affected nations. He highlighted the crisis in Sudan, where clashes between rival forces have displaced millions, and called for African nations to intensify mediation efforts and support peace talks aimed at restoring order.

Mudavadi also addressed the Russia-Ukraine conflict, stating that the prolonged war has disrupted global trade and worsened food and energy security. He urged the international community to push for dialogue as the only path to lasting peace. Drawing from Kenya’s own experience, Mudavadi cited the formation of the broad-based government as an example of how inclusivity and dialogue can sustain peace and unity in a country.

He emphasized that in Kenya, peace has been witnessed through a broad-based government that promotes consultation and inclusion. Mudavadi noted that when leaders prioritize the interests of the people, nations move forward. He reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to supporting diplomacy and peacebuilding both regionally and globally, stressing that the world must prioritize unity over division and dialogue over confrontation.

Mudavadi concluded by stating that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of understanding, cooperation, and respect among nations. He asserted that when peace prevails, businesses thrive, communities prosper, and humanity advances.
